Lit Quiz

Yesterday (6th August) was the 2015 Lit Quiz. Springston entered 2 teams and one of the Springston team's won and the other came 4th. I was in the winning team and we scored 105 out of 120. The other team scored 94 out of 120. I think we did really well.

A highlight for me was the entertainment. Desna Wallace was the entertainment, Desna came to talk about her book Canterbury Quake. Desna told us about how she came to write about the earthquakes. I really enjoyed Desna and I got my certificate signed by her.

For winning Springston gets to host the next Lit Quiz. Also as individual prizes each of the winning team got a book.

Lit Quiz

The Lit Quiz is an annual Quiz. For the Lit Quiz a lot of schools enter teams of 6 people. In the months leading up to the Quiz everyone reads 12 books to answer Questions on and the team who gets the most answers right win the Quiz and gets to host the  next Lit Quiz.

In 2014 a Springston School team won the Lit Quiz and the other Springston School team came around 7th. So in reality we did really well! I was in the winning team. I highly recommend trying to get in to Lit Quiz!

my book review

I am not Esther by Fleur Beale

When Kirby finds out her mother is going to Africa to work with refuges and Kirby would be staying behind with her religious uncle Kirby is not happy . Her uncle lives with a religious state that believes in wearing long clothes, plaiting hair, no digital devices and even no mirrors.

Kirby's name is changed to Esther because her name is not religious.Kirby would have gone to pieces if her little cousin Magdalene was not there. Magdalene helps Esther learn the religious ways .

Read the book if you want to find out what happens to Esther and the religious state. I give this book a 9 out of 10.
